Skansen maszyn parowych Tarnowskie Góry

   Skansen Maszyn Parowych w Tarnowskich Górach, mieszczący się przy ul. Szczęść Boże 81, za budynkiem nadszybia szybu „Anioł”, jest częścią Zabytkowej Kopalni Srebra. W skład skansenu wchodzi 25 eksponatów, które ilustrują rozwój górnictwa w Tarnowskich Górach, szczególnie podkreślając znaczenie technologii parowej, która zrewolucjonizowała przemysł na przełomie XVIII i XIX wieku.

 

   Skansen został uruchomiony w 1976 roku, równocześnie z otwarciem Zabytkowej Kopalni Srebra (wtedy znanej jako Zabytkowa Kopalnia Rud Srebronośnych). Kopalnia ta jest fragmentem podziemnych wyrobisk Królewskiej Kopalni Fryderyk (niem. Königliche Friedrichsgrube), obejmujących korytarze, chodniki i sztolnie odwadniające, które łącznie mają ponad 150 km długości.

 

   W 2014 roku przeprowadzono odnowę eksponatów skansenowych. Rok później, podczas Industriady, uruchomiono małą kolejkę skansenową o rozstawie szyn 184 mm (tzw. kolej lilipucia), której trasa wynosi około 500 metrów, oferując odwiedzającym wyjątkową możliwość przejażdżki wśród zabytkowych maszyn.
